What Is Dofollow or Nofollow
Nofollow is a HTML attribute of anchor tag. This attribute do not allow search engine to follow the link only human can follow your link. If any website linking back to you with Nofollow attribute then search engine will not follow your link or in simple words search engine will not consider your link while determining your page rank. How To Make Blogger Comments Dofollow
To prevent our blog from spamming, blogger automatically add nofollow attribute to all comments. But if you want to increase the number of comments in blog then to attract visitors you have to make your comments dofollow by making small modification in template.In blogger template search following piece of code

And change it to
<a expr:href='data:comment.authorUrl'><data:comment.author/></a>
Save your template.
You can make your comments to dofollow only in old comment system. If your blog have threaded comments then you have to install comment luv to make your blogger blog to dofollow, a separate article is given here.

I think whatever you carved here is useful info to us, but now a days we don't have time for so much work so I only follow the three pillars after the google update and that is blog commenting, forums and directory submission. Any idea how to make this work now? I've gotten rid of the rel nofollow for both comment/backlink and my toolbar checker is still showing a nofollow link. (side note i see nofollow links here as well)

Dofollow links are much better than no follows in that they help your site get ranked. Nofollows are also good in the sense that they allow sites look more natural to the crawlers when they see them with dofollows on a site. Thanks for the list
